Kristen is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and an alumna of Clark Atlanta University. While at Clark Atlanta, Kristen was a member of of the PRISM-D program and honor society and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Kristen began her career as an Enforcement and Compliance Officer for the Environmental Protection Agency. After working there 5 years she decided to pursue her creative gifts and switch gears to make a career transition to graphic design. She studied at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA and started freelancing her design skills as Pretty Scribbles Creative Design. Her work has included logo design, brand development, flyers, business cards, invitations, calligraphy, tee-shirt designs, etc. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge Kristen continued to add to her design arsenal and added web design and user experience design to her skill set. She studied the Foundation of Web Design at Tech Talent South and User Experience Design at General Assembly. During her career transition, Kristen has worked as a Store Artist at Whole Foods Market and currently is a Frontend Web Developer at Haverty's Furniture.
Kristen's pursuit of knowledge is far from over. She is currently a graduate student in the Learning, Design and Technology program at the University of Georgia where she is working towards a Masters of Education in Instructional Design & Technology. Not only is she passionate about design, but she is dedicated towards using her life to serve others. She is more than honored to be able to share her design talents, time and love to help the Enchanted Closet continue to flourish and fulfill its mission to serve underserved young ladies in metropolitan Atlanta and surrounding cities.
