What We’re Doing

"Physically, mentally, and emotionally outfitting over 7000 metropolitan Atlanta girls since 2003. "

Impact The World

Since the incorporation of the Enchanted Closet as a volunteer-run nonprofit organization in 2003, a significant impact has been made. The organization has outfitted 6683 girls for prom and other special occasions at a cost savings to them and their families of over $1,750,000. The organization has empowered 648 girls through implementation of the GIRL$ Service-Learning Program, also known as the GIRL$ Program. Nearly 2000 volunteers have contributed to the mission of the organization. The mission is to physically, mentally, and emotionally outfit metropolitan Atlanta high school girls from low-income families through programs that prepare them for social and professional milestones.

Affective Causes

The Enchanted Closet is focused on aiding girls holistically to empower and enhance the self awareness, self esteem, and self sufficiency of girls 12-19 years old, many of whom are living in foster care, group homes, and primarily single parent families.  Our primary causes are the GIRL$ Service-Learning Program (held the 2nd Saturday of each month), and the Prom Dress Giveaway Program (held during the months of March through May). Collectively our services include: Education, Economic Empowerment and Financial Literacy, Health and Wellness, Leadership Development, Youth Empowerment and Life Skills Development Programs, and Youth Community Service.

Charity Events

The Enchanted Closet participates in numerous charity events each year and welcomes your support.  The Prom Dress Giveaway Boutiques are the highlight of many volunteers' giving experiences. Registration opens online in February for girls wanting to attend the boutiques and for volunteers wanting to help outfit girls for prom at the boutiques. We welcome the community's support with collecting dresses. Individuals and businesses may host dress drives and other events to raise awareness about our  programs. We are happy to provide partnership information to interested parties. Volunteers and Community Partners are recognized annually at an appreciation event.  Send us a note via the contact us form if you are interesting in serving as a dress drive hostess or partnering with us for other endeavors.
